Hapkido is a form of Korean Self Defence that employs joint locks, kicks, punches, and other striking attacks. There is also the use of traditional weapons, including a sword, rope, cane, short stick, and staff which vary in emphasis depending on the particular tradition examined.
Hapkido uses both long and close range fighting techniques, utilizing jumping kicks and deadly hand strikes at longer ranges and pressure point strikes, joint locks, or throws at closer fighting distances.
Hapkido emphasizes circular motion, non-resisting movements, and control of the opponent.
Practitioners seek to gain advantage through footwork and body positioning to employ leverage, avoiding the use of strength against strength.

Get fit and have fun
Every class at Hapkido Brisbane provides plenty of exercise for every fitness level. Each class covers a basic warm up, kicking, punching, techniques, breakfalls and lots more. Class is never boring or monotonous when learning Hapkido.
Hapkido is a martial art that is focused on practical self defence skills. Hapkido Brisbane Students learn useful skills from the first class to be able to defend themselves from punches, kicks, grabs and lots more.

Rebecca has been doing Hapkido since childhood and couldn’t imagine her life without it. She has a passion for training others and helping to perfect the finer details.
Master Higgins loves to see all her students achieve their goals and dedicates her time to ensure students of all ages learn and improve in every class.
Karin loves being able to see each and every single student grow in their own physical, mental and emotional health, through Hapkido. And ensures all students learn and improve to the best of their abilities.
