Combination Kicking (Yon Kyul Pal Chagi)
Combination kicking is the execution of two or more kicks in rapid, fluid succession.
We practise combinations to:
Develop flow: Transition smoothly from one kick to the next while maintaining balance and control.
Build muscle memory: Repetition develops the ability to perform combinations naturally and without hesitation.
Change levels and angles: Vary the height, direction and target of each kick to make attacks less predictable.
Use feints: Use the first kick to draw a defensive reaction and create an opening for the follow-up kick.
Apply combinations: Develop combinations that can be used effectively in sparring and, where appropriate, self-defence.
